Thoughts on S2E5 episode of The Flash

Full disclosure: The Flash is my favorite superhero show on television.  It is like the characters and plot lines leap from the pages of the comic book and onto the television screen.  It is not overly dark and brooding, working in both humor and lightheartedness.

This current season has dealt with the notion of parallel worlds, namely Earth 2 and it's greatest threat: Zoom.  Below are some thoughts I had after viewing episode 5 of season 2 "The Darkness and the Light."

Spoilers if you haven't seen the episode.

  • Harrison Wells of Earth 2 is a total ass and it's amazing!  Tom Cavanagh is a fantastic actor, essentially playing the same character 3 different ways: Wells of Earth 1, Thawne as Wells, and Wells of Earth 2.
  • Finally Cisco has accepted his abilities.  Vibe has officially arrived!
  • Barry allowing Wells and Jay to get some of their aggression out on each other before intervening was entertaining.
  • I loved the Atlantis talk and how it's above water on Earth 2.  I totally geeked out when Jay said "One of my best friends is from there."  We need Aquaman to make an appearance.  Maybe season 3?
  • The Barry/Patty date was thoroughly enjoyable.  Patty Spivot's interaction with Barry is so charming and adorable.  Patty was wearing a Flash-colored dress.  And who knew Barry was so suave?
  • "Cisco, I don't think any of us would become evil if we all of a sudden got powers, even if they were from Dr. Wells." - Caitlin Snow.  Great allusion!
  • Caitlin didn't test positive as a meta-human when Wells used his device on her.  We've seen a glimpse of her as Killer Frost.  Similar to Linda Park (Earth 1) and Linda Park/Dr. Light (Earth 2), will we see the Cailin Snow/Killer Frost of Earth 2?

Thoughts?  Feedback?

Grave Situations

Spoilers for those who have not seen the most recent episodes of Arrow Season 4.

Well, it looks like Sara Lance is back, albeit with a number of restless souls inside her body.  I guess this is how John Constantine will work his way into the Arrow-verse.

As of this writing, we are 3 episodes into season 4 of Arrow and there's already been two pivotal graveyard scenes.

The one where Laurel digs up Sara's body in order to submerge it in the Lazarus pit and the teaser at the conclusion of the season opener.  The one with Oliver kneeling at, shedding a manly tear.

Now the way the episode is framed, we are led to believe it is Felicity who has passed.  I believe that to be a red herring.  My prediction for the deceased member of the Arrow universe is...

Quentin Lance

Maybe he betrays Damien Darhk and tries to right his wrongs.

Maybe as he is mortally wounded while protecting his city.

Maybe he mends fences with the Green Arrow.

Maybe he will ask Oliver to protect his daughter, similar to Captain George Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man 90.

This is my guess, what's yours?
